Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tsp Spice Islands® Parsley
  • 1 tsp Spice Islands® Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Spice Islands® Sweet Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Spice Islands® Medium Grind Black Pepper
  • 4 New York strip steaks, trimmed of excess fat
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Directions

  1. Prepare the grill for direct cooking over medium heat (350° to 450°F).
  2. Combine cream cheese, butter, parsley flakes, garlic powder, basil and black pepper in a medium bowl with an electric mixer. Chill until ready to serve.
  3. Lightly coat the steaks with oil and generously grind seasoning on both sides of the steaks. Allow the steaks to stand at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. Brush the cooking grates clean. Grill the steaks over direct medium heat, with the lid closed as much as possible, until cooked to your desired doneness, 16 to 18 minutes for medium rare, turning once or twice.
  5. Remove from the grill and let rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve with homemade cheese sauce.
